Friday Gig at TailGators

A shot of the calm before the storm.

We had a fun night at Tailgators. Great food and atmosphere and excellent service. Thanks to all the friends who came to see us.

Also special thanks to PJ for taking care of the sound for us.

We also had Kage doing 3 songs between sets. It was an opportunity to see them perform as lead guitar, Nick Aitken, will be leaving Ottawa for Waterloo. Great performance from Jeff, Rob, Nick and Brad.

What a great crowd we had at the Navy Curling Club. Everyone had a great time. The dinner (courtesy of Lonestar) was excellent. And what can I say about those cookies!!! And it was all for a good cause.

On Saturday, Nov 10 will be the Kinnexa's CD Release party to be held at the Bass Line Station on Baseline Rd. Opening for the evening is Rock/Folk artist Nathan Hunter. Show starts at 8:00PM. So come out and see us.

Wedding Gig

Congratulations to Andre and Wendy on their wedding. It was a pleasure providing the music during your wedding celebration.

A&D Volleyball Tournament

This gig was a blast! The weather turned out to be spectacular and the pool was just the right temperature. The volleyball games went like clockwork and everyone had a good time. Amando and Donna managed to keep everyone extremely well fed and the chicken in particular was so succulent!

The tournament raised more than ever and once again it has all gone to CHEO! Thanks to A & D for all their hard work and for letting Spillback join in the fun.

Feargaill at the Charity Event for the Diabetes Foundation

Well .. I must admit that this was an interesting gig. Feargaill played their hearts out and even encouraged a few to sing along!

The folks at Hyland Golf Course made us feel at home and we also had a great dinner.

Thanks all for supporting the Diabetes Foundation.

Bass Line Station

Wow that was another great time! It was great to just show up with our gear and set up. The sound was fantatic - thanks PJ - and the staff were really friendly. The crowd was up and dancing. We even had a few band members from an up and coming band from the US get up and jam during the break. Brad is officially broken in and fits like an old shoe. No turning back now!

Thanks for the party folks and check out the picture gallery for pics of the gig.

"Quest for the Cure" at the Barley Mow

Imagine a room full of kids jumping up and down with a singer and a guitar player. You can hear the laughter and the words "and when he was up he was up". Then the kids all pop up again! I forget how much kids can move. The parents; I'm still trying to decide if the kids were tired or wound up after the gig, clapping and singing along. What made the evening even more exciting was that this group were raising money in the quest for a cure.

Kinnexa and Chito were treated like stars with a number of people asking for autographs! Kinnexa ended up with an admirer who gave her a nice drawing. Eat your heart out Tom Jones. Check out the photos in the gallery for all the action.

Thanks for the great time (not to mention a great meal). Hope to see you all out at the next Feargaill gig! Details to follow.

As well, come on out to Bass Line Station at the end of June to help us welcome Brad into the Spillback family!

"Curling for a Cure at the Navy" Charity Event

What a fun night at the Royal Canadian Navy Curling Club on Dow's Lake! Everyone had a great time. Lots of dancing went on - in fact, I'm pretty sure there wasn't a single song that didn't have people up and dancing. This was exactly the type of gig that we love to do - the energy levels were so high that you couldn't help but to dance or wiggle in your chair. The dinner was excellent with succulent roast beef, and veggies. The desserts offered were slices of paradise! The ladies did a fantastic job organizing, cooking and making sure everyone enjoyed themselves. Special thanks to Kathryn, Tammy, Carla, Natalie and Mandy for giving so much of yourselves to such a wonderful cause. Check out the photos in the gallery!

Again thanks to Art Castonguay for keeping the beat! We love having him on board.

On other news, Kinnexa and Chito, performing as "Feargaill" will be playing Celtic music on April 29, Sunday from 6-9pm at the Barley Mow in Barrhaven. This is in support of the charity event "Quest For The Cure". Hope to see you all there.
